Torreon HISTORY
An inspired vision when it began in 1998, Torreon is a vibrant four season recreational community for all ages. Over 50% of the acreage is devoted to estate-size homesites on the golf course. 25% is dedicated to golf course, parks and open space and the balance of the community is planned for smaller residential, resort and light retail business.
History of Torreon AZ Milestones
| 1998 | Torreon is established by Desert Troon Companies. |
| 1999 | Luxury homesites are available within the first neighborhoods at Torreon. |
| 1999 | The Tower 18-hole championship golf course designed by internationally acclaimed architects Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril opens. |
| 2000 | Torreon Clubhouse opens. |
| 2000 | Family Center Clubhouse and Recreational Complex open. |
| 2001 | A third 9-holes of championship golf opens in the summer. |
| 2002 | Fitness Complex opens. |
| 2003 | Equestrian Center opens. |
| 2006 | Torreon Centre, the commercial hub of Torreon opens. |
| 2007 | Cabin restaurant, at the turn of the Cabin course, opens. |
| 2007 | A fourth 9-holes of championship golf is opens. Each 18-hole course offers members a unique golf experience. The Tower and Cabin courses are equally popular with members. |
| 2007 | Residential Storage available to members and local residents opens. |
| 2007 | Torreon Clubhouse is expanded and remodeled. 2007 Family Center Clubhouse is expanded. |
| 2008 | New Torreon Clubhouse reopens in April. |
